Buchfart
Mill shop

Hardly any other topic offers as much potential for conversation as bread, especially as good handmade bread is rare and many a lover of this baked good spends a lot of time and effort travelling to his favourite baker. The Buchfart mill, a small village on the River Ilm, also has this regular clientele, who are prepared to travel long distances for a good snack. The mill shop is an insider tip.

In the historic water mill, the flour for the old German bakery is ground in-house and then freshly baked every Friday. Next to the bakery, the mill shop offers cosy seating that invites you to linger. The savoury bread meal, which is of course accompanied by home-baked bread and beer from the village brewery, is accompanied by a wide range of home-made cakes for those with a sweet tooth. The small beer garden is also open in the warmer months. The well-stocked little shop also has many specialities on offer.
