It leads through the protected landscape of the Mittleres Ilmtal (central Ilm Valley nature area) and connects three historic viewpoints. The route links the Paulinenturm near Bad Berka (spa town in Thuringia), the Hainturm in the Belvederer Forst near Weimar (historic forest area), and the Carolinenturm near Blankenhain (small town south of Weimar), combining nature, scenic views, and cultural landmarks into a varied hiking experience.
