Eichelborn
Goat farm
Grammetal
In the fairy tale of “The Little Table”, the goat is not exactly in the best position – sneaky and greedy, she ends up being chased off the farm. At the Eichelborn goat farm, on the other hand, the horned goats themselves provide plenty of table settings. On the small farm, the 40 dairy goats live together with four pigs, dogs, cats, rabbits and four chickens.
Stefanie Eberhardt runs the recognised herd breeding farm for the white German Edelziege goat. Every day, she processes 120 litres of goat’s milk into various products, including sweet goat’s cheese balls with coconut, chocolate, exotic fruit and cinnamon, various spiced, savoury goat’s cheese spreads and cheese specialities marinated in oil, spices and herbs.
Visitors are allowed to bring themselves and their three-cheese highs to buy cheese with a petting zoo character. Touching is still allowed here, as is asking questions. Products from other direct marketers in the region such as goat’s cheese, eggs, fruit spreads and honey can also be found in the shop.
